Carlton, meanwhile, is riding high after last Friday's drought-breaking win over the Sydney Swans at the SCG. The Blues are third on the ladder, their only defeat having come at the hands of reigning premier Collingwood.
Star onballer Marc Murphy returned from Sydney with his arm in a sling, but he looks certain to line up against the Saints after scans on his shoulder were clear.
